How do I share assessments and grades to Schoology?

This is a feature available to Chalk Gold subscribers. You will not have this option if you are a free user.

If you have linked your subject and students to an existing Schoology course, you will be able to share an assessment you've created in Chalk as an assignment in Schoology, and can send your grades to students directly through Chalk.

Sharing Assessments

Step 1:

Navigate to the Assessments page for your subject in Markboard. From here you have two options for how to send an existing assessment to Schoology.

Option 1:

Open the assessment's settings by hovering your cursor over the assessment and clicking the gear icon.

From the assessment settings window, click the Publish to Schoology button.

Option 2:

Click on an assessment to be taken to its grading page. From here you can click Share in Schoology in the top-right corner.

Step 2:

All above options will open the "Share Assessment to Schoology" window. From here you can edit the name, category, "out of" marks, due date, grading scale/period, instructions, and select attachments from your assessment to be posted to your Schoology course. Click Publish when done.

Step 3:

Your assignment has been published to Schoology!

You can click the View button to be taken to its page in Schoology.

Step 4:

If you would like to add more attachments, align learning objectives or set as a midterm/final, you can click the gear icon in the top-right corner in Schoology and click Edit. Please note that you cannot make changes to these options from Chalk.

Returning Grades

Step 1:

Once an assessment has been published to Schoology, entering grades will automatically send them to your gradebook in Schoology!

You will see a notification at the top of the assessment's page in Markboard that the grades have been saved, as well as when they were last sent to Schoology.
