How do I create a lesson plan within Resources?

You may want to create a lesson plan outside of your current timetable and not associated with a schedule. Perhaps you have a new class next term and want to create material ahead of time or maybe your role is within the district and you create reusable lesson content for other teachers to import and use within their class.

Step 1:

Click Resources in the menu bar at the top of the page. Resources is where you will find all of the Lessons, Lesson Groups and other items that have been shared to you or that you have shared to others. To learn more about lesson sharing, see this link.

Step 2:

In Resources, you can browse shared lessons, search for reusable items shared to you and create new reusable lessons to share with others. Click the Create a Lesson button.

Give your new lesson a title and select whether you want to begin with a template or start fresh with a blank page.

Step 3:

The final step is to add content to your new shared lesson plan. This is done the same way as in other areas of the lesson planner -- simply add text, images, video or other elements to the editing canvas. Don’t forget to add attachments from your computer or from Google Drive or link to external sites or resources on the internet if appropriate.

Just as with other shared lessons you can import your new lesson into specific classes on your schedule. Either overwrite or shift existing lessons to accommodate your new lesson and you’re done.

Of course you don’t have to import your new shared lessons right away. You can plan lessons directly within Resources and then, when ready, import them to your planner to associate with relevant standards and curriculum.
