How do I recover deleted lessons or restore lessons to a previous state?
This is a feature available to Chalk Gold subscribers and teachers whose schools are subscribed to the Instruction Solution.
You will not have this option if you are a free user, and will need to reach out to support@chalk.com or use our Live Chat for assistance in restoring lesson content.
You might find yourself in a situation where you have accidentally deleted or otherwise lost progress on a lesson. You can sometimes fix this by using the "Undo/Redo" buttons within the lesson editor, but you won't be able to do this if you have navigated away from the lesson or the changes were made in a previous day.
This article will show you how to use the Lesson History feature to recover or restore your lesson to a previous state.
Step 1:
Click the Options button in the top-right of the lesson editor, then click on Lesson History.
Step 2:
You will be taken to the Lesson History window, which displays up to the last 250 edits made to the lesson over the previous 5 days. You can click on the edits to display the lesson content on the right side of the window.
The window will look like the following:
- Search function for the lesson version history.
- Deleted lessons for the current date.
- Recent edits to the lesson will be listed by most to least recent.
- Click here to display older edits to the lesson.
- The lesson title and date.
- The lesson content will display for the version you are viewing.
- Click this setting to toggle highlighted changes between the lesson's current version and the edit version you are viewing.
- Click Restore to return the live version of the lesson to the edit version you have selected.
Step 3:
Select the version of the lesson you would like to restore, then click Restore to replace the live version of the lesson to the version you have selected.
Step 4:
Your lesson has now been restored to the previous state you have selected!
