Chalk Gold is an optional premium offering that enables you to have advanced functionalities such as custom colours, Google Classroom integration, lesson search, and more.

While Chalk is a comprehensive and free planning tool, we do offer an optional premium service. Chalk Gold helps you better personalize your planner and share it with others. By subscribing, you gain access to premium features and help support and shape the future of the lesson planner through your feedback.

You can sign up for Chalk Gold by clicking the Upgrade button found in the top-right of your free teacher account.

How much does Chalk Gold cost?

Chalk Gold costs $9/month or $99/year USD. If you sign up for the yearly option, you will be billed annually.

Do I have to pay to use Chalk now?

Most of our lesson planner and gradebook features are free for individual teachers and include access to our helpful guides, live chat, and email support with no strings attached. Upgrading to Chalk Gold is optional and only required to access the premium features. You will not be required to pay for any existing features included in free Chalk accounts.

Will there be more premium features available for Chalk Gold?

Since its launch in 2020, our team has been working towards expanding the available features of Chalk Gold in response to feedback from our subscribers. We plan to develop and release additional Chalk Gold power features periodically at no additional cost.

Is there a free trial available?

There is currently no free trial available. Payment for a subscription for Chalk Gold occurs immediately.

Can I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your Chalk Gold subscription at any time by going to the same page where you subscribed. Once a subscription is cancelled, you will remain a Chalk Gold subscriber and maintain access to the premium features until the end of the current billing cycle.

My school already has a paid subscription to Chalk--do I get access to Chalk Gold features?

Yes, you will have access to any Chalk Gold features that correspond to the same solution your school has a subscription to. For example, schools with a paid subscription to Chalk Instruction will have access to all premium lesson planner features, whereas schools with a paid subscription to Chalk Assessment will have access to all premium gradebook features.

Can I use Chalk Gold features on the Planboard or Markboard mobile apps?

Chalk Gold features are not yet available on mobile.

Are there any Chalk Gold offerings for teams of teachers?

We do offer Chalk Teams, which includes all of the available premium features as well as the ability to share lessons and resources among other Chalk Gold colleagues. If this is something you are interested in, please read this chapter of the learning guide.
