Planboard Guide

Chapter 2: Lesson Planning

Planboard makes it simple to get organized and reduce your classroom prep time. Accessible from anywhere, you can plan lessons, align to curriculum sets, and manage your schedule with ease. Best of all, it’s free for individual teachers.

This learning guide will help familiarize you with the features of Chalk's Planboard app. While this guide will cover many of the features available, please refer to our extensive support articles for specific questions or reach out to us at support@chalk.com or through our in-app Live Chat service (available Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm EST).

The following chapter of our learning guide will go over how to:

  • Navigate Planboard and create lesson plan content
  • Create and assign lesson plan templates
  • Create a unit in Planboard
  • Assign standards to a lesson plan
  • Track your curriculum progress

This video provides a quick overview of how to use the lesson plan editor within Planboard. Keep in mind this doesn't cover everything, but it's a great place to get started.

Step 3:

If you have more than one set assigned to a subject, select which set you want to see progress for by selecting it from the drop down on the right.

Step 4:

The list below is your coverage of each individual expectation from that set. Expectations that have been covered in a lesson or assessment are marked with green codes, and a green checkmark on the right. To explore more, click on the standard row, and it will expand.

Green indicates it's been covered in at least one lesson or assessment, grey means it hasn't been assigned yet.

If you click on a green standard/expectations, you can see all the lessons and/or assessments it has been assigned to. You can then click on a lesson to navigate to that date in Planboard or an assessment to navigate to that assessment in Markboard.
